Video Editing

In this section, we will show you how to:

1. Add Clips to the Timeline

    To add media clips to the timeline:

  • Drag-n-drop the media from the Media Library panel to the timeline.
  • Click the Plus icon on the media clip to add it to the timeline.
  • Right click the media and select Add to timeline at Playhead.

    You can drag the clips on the timeline to adjust their position.

2. Audio Editing

    To mute the audio of a video clip, right click on the clip in the timeline and then select Mute Audio.

    To detach the audio from a video clip, right click the clip in the timeline and then select Audio Detach. The detached audio file will be placed in the next track automatically.

3. Split Clips

    To split the video clips into separate parts:

  • Place the Playhead to the position that you want to split
  • Click the scissor icon on the toolbar or right click on the clip and then select Split

4. Cut Clips

    To cut a whole clip, just right click on the clip and select Cut.

    To cut a portion of a clip, place the Playhead at the beginning of the part that you want to cut and then click the scissors icon to split the clip. Next, place the Playhead at the end of the part that you want to cut and click the scissors icon again. Now, you can drag the cut portion to a new position in the timeline or just right click it and select Cut to cut it.

    Note: To get a better view of the timeline, you can use the Zoom slider on the toolbar.

5. Delete Clips

    To delete a clip from the timeline, just select it and press the Delete key on the keyboard. Or, you can right click the clip and select Delete.

    To delete a section of the clip, separate the unwanted section with the Split feature and then delete it.

6. Resize Clips

    If you need to resize the video clip in the Preview Window, go to the Visual window and use the scale slider.

7. Rotate Clips

    You can rotate the clip in the Preview Window by using the center handle.

    If you want to rotate the clip in the timeline, select it first and then go the Visual property window to adjust the Rotation settings.

8. Crop Clips

    To crop down the video clip:

  • Switch to Crop Mode by clicking the Crop icon in the lower right corner of the Preview Window.

  • In the Preview Window, select the portion of the clip that you want to crop down to by dragging the white handles.

9. Export

    You can export the video clips as MP4s, MOVs or GIFs. Click the Export button in the upper right corner of the screen. In the Export window, you can change the video name and the storage location. What’s more, you can change video parameters such as resolution, frame rate, bit rate, and audio settings.

    After changing the settings, click Export.
